The state of Texas chartered SCSC in 1966. The Club By-Laws, originally adopted 1969, provide for seven elected officers, including the President, four Vice Presidents (Programs, Trips, Memberships and Publications), Secretary and Treasurer.
All coordination, planning and directing of the Club's activities are done by these officers with the direction and cooperation of the Board of Directors.
The Board was brought into existence in 1974, when the By-Laws were revised, and consists of the current officers, the previous year's officers and three immediate past presidents.
Also assisting in the operation of the Club are Director of Trips, Director of Programs, Audit Chair, Race Director, Nominating Committee Chair and other appointees when deemed necessary by the Board.
Club By-Laws and Standing Rules have been revised at times throughout the history of the Club to meet the demands of the membership.
All officers and board members, as well as Trip Coordinators, Assistant Trip Coordinators, Activity Coordinators, Assistant Activity Coordinators, Ambassadors and others are all volunteers.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Pass the torch to the next volunteers: BE THE NEXT VOLUNTEER!
